Shat Chandi Yagya

Shat Chandi Yagya is a ritual that is performed to obtain the blessings of Goddess Chandi Devi. This is one of the most powerful havans for removing all types of problems and ensuring great success in life. It is a religious text that describes the Goddess Durga's victory over the demon Mahishasura. It is included in the Markandeya Purana, which was written by the sage Markandeya. The text contains Saptashata, or 700 verses, and as a result, the entire composition is known as Durga Saptashati. The seven hundred verses are divided into thirteen chapters. A number of subsidiary texts are appended before and after the 700 verses for ritual reading purposes. Durga Saptashati is read ritualistically as part of the Navratri celebrations in honour of the Goddess Durga.
